parkrunday 11th March 2017

There were a whopping 79 Hyde Park Harriers out parkrunning across 11 different venues around the world this parkrunday. These included Bev Miller, Julie Robson, Michelle Hancocks and Teejay Jones who were parkrunning again down at Big Bay, Cape Town in South Africa and Tom Pollard who was the first Hyde Park Harrier to parkrun at Taupo in the centre of North Island, New Zealand.

There were 64 Hyde Park Harriers amongst the record breaking 718 turnout at Woodhouse Moor where it was our local parkrun’s 500th event – easily more than from any other running club.

There were six PBs. These were by Bev Miller with 29:38, Michelle Hancocks with 30:31 & Teejay Jones with 41:42 at Big Bay; Chris Bracchi with 30:05 at Woodhouse Moor; Oliver Leonard with 20:30 at Harrogate; and Mark Hadrill with 21:19 at Stewart (where the first finisher was a Harry Potter – surely not the Harry Potter).

Top Age Grade% by the ladies was 66.04% by Hannah Marshall and by the men was 75.44% by Michael Vargas. Just shy of the Age Grade% achieved by the HPH parkrun Python’s wrangler this week – despite only having one fully functioning leg. 🙂
