There were 51 HPH women and 68 HPH men out parkrunning across 43 venues worldwide this week.
Eighteen Hyde Park Harriers travelled to try out a new course. One of these courses was new to the HPH list. This was Ōrākei Bay in New Zealand by Nicola Harold.
Ōrākei Bay parkrun starts and finishes in Ōrākei Bay Village in Auckland. Ōrākei Bay Village is an old gin factory now converted to shops and eateries. It claims to be Auckland’s best boutique shopping & entertainment precinct on the Eastern side of the city. With twenty-five shops and eateries, a cinema, art gallery, and the convenience of a Farro supermarket. The Village sits balanced between Ōrākei Basin and Hobson Bay, and boasts impressive water and Auckland City skyline views. The parkrun course is out-and back on permanent paths on the Ōrākei Basin Boardwalk.
There were two first finishing Hyde Park Harriers. These were Thomas Moulding in 17:54 at Preston and Clare Slorach in 21:15 on her first time at Wilmslow. There were five PBs. These were by Emily Latus with 29:42 at Woodhouse Moor; Poppy Forwood with 49:40 at Temple Newsam; Paul Milligan with 20:41 at Middleton Woods; Robert Butler with 26:00 at Millfield; and Amber Edwards with 29:22 at Bowling Park.
Amaia Imaz Blanco and William Watkins joined the parkrun 50 club with their runs at Temple Newsam and Cross Flatts respectively. Jaz Bangerh achieved the Gold parkrun Obsessive Challenge for 2025 by completing her 50th parkrun of the year.
Top female Age Grade% was 71.22% by Clare Slorach at Wilmslow and top male Age Grade% was 79.38% by Gordon Crawford at Woodhouse Moor. Gordon’s Age Grade% was also top overall at Woodhouse Moor on the day.
