With the summer holiday season beginning it wasn’t surprising to see Hyde Park Harriers turning up all over the place this week. There were 89 of them out parkrunning across 34 different venues, three of which were new overseas venues for the Hyde Park Harriers’ list. These were the cradle of the Renaissance – Florence, Italy by Helen Williams; the city in the Bay of Plenty on New Zealand’s North Island – Tauranga by Ruth Maltby; and Nose Hill Park in Calgary, Canada where Amy Young was first female finisher in a time of 21:34. There were also two new UK venues for the list. These were Buckingham by Vicky Houghton and Marlborough Common by Monika Pugeviciute.

There were three other first finishers. These were Anna Stocks in 21:19 at Myrtle; Clare Slorach in 20:26 at Potternewton; and Laura Hastings in 25:14 at Storthes Hall.

There were eleven PBs. These were by Mike Gallagher in 17:32; Richard Garratt in 19:44; Edward Preston in 20:15 and Alison Hargreaves in 27:00 at Woodhouse Moor; Chris Lodge in 20:11 and Ciara Crossan in 28:00 at Roundhay; Jamie Dobson in 23:14 at Linwood; John Pratt in 19:26 at Sheffield Castle; Grace Roberts in 30:34 at Bramley; and Richard Edwards in 24:07 and Jeremy Forber in 39:26 at Armley.

Top Age Grade% by the ladies was 72.51% by Clare Slorach at Potternewton and for the men was 75.67% by Mike Gallagher at Woodhouse Moor.
