Hyde Park Harriers 20th Anniversary Celebration

On Saturday 11 July 2026, more than sixty Hyde Park Harriers gathered at the Executive Suite of Headingley Stadium to celebrate 20 years of our club!

The evening included a three-course dinner, speeches from HPH chairs past and present, the awards presentation for the 2025/26 season, HPH cupcakes handmade by Beth C and much more, all soundtracked by a playlist partially comprised of tracks from the HPH 20th anniversary playlist and curated by HPH’s own Cara (AKA DJ Glitz).

The night coincided with England’s victorious World Cup quarter-final match against Norway, which was enjoyed on the projector screen after the formal HPH celebrations had finished.

Thank you to everyone who came along to celebrate our club and to all the folks who helped organise it especially Paul S, Beth C, Naomi A, Kay J and Anne A! And thank you to everyone who took photos on the night, including Anne A, Lizzie C, Naomi A, Jaz B and Clare E!

Ain’t No Barriers

Ain’t no barriers
For us, for
Hyde Park Harriers

The motto of our community
Captures us, ironically
And speaks to who we are
And who I know we’ll always be

Twenty years, you know the score
Come run with us for fun or sport
Find friends, find joy, all kinds of kindness
Find guidance, find purpose and so much more

Ain’t no barriers
For all the
Hyde Park Harriers

Speedy folk, we’ve got a few
Feet flying, sweat forming anew, anew
But all are welcome here
At a club that means to move you

Offset your doubts, what’er your stripe
Once HPH, you’re red-and-white for life
Walks, runs, beers, coffee
parkrun in t’morning, headtorch at night

Just starting? We’re cheering
Finish lines that you’re nearing
PBing? We’re tearing
Up we’re so proud and we’re loudest in clearings
In parks across Leeds, cross countries
All speeds
And abilities are worth celebrating

So give it your all and we’ll give it all back
Leeds by example on fell, road and track
I’m proud to be part of this family
To accept limitations is the one thing we lack

Because

Ain’t no barriers
For us, for
Hyde Park Harriers
