There were 93 Hyde Park Harriers out parkrunning over 32 different venues this week. Two new US venues were added to the Hyde Park Harriers venue list. These were Clermont Waterfront near Orlando, Florida by Fiona Blyth and Perrigo near Redmond, Washington by Tami Bond. Steve Milne added Polkemmet Country which is between Glasgow and Edinburgh to the list.
It had to happen eventually. A Hyde Park Harrier has turned up at one of the parkruns that takes place in a closed prison. What can Tom Williams have done to be in Keppel? Now hold on a minute. Keppel is a Young Offenders Institution, and Tom is definitely not a young offender. Rosie or Aston must have been very, very naughty to have been in there for a visit. He was really there to celebrate the 1st anniversary of Keppel parkrun and was truely inspired on seeing the positive effect that parkrun is having on the boys there.
There were four first finishers. These were Amy Young in 21:31 at Conyngham Hall; Anna Stocks in 20:51 at Gunpowder; Michael Vargas in 17:25 at Rothwell; and George Anderson in 17:22 at Oxford.
There were eight PBs. These were Steve Rhodes with 19:44; Emma Brown with 22:16 and Cara Sass with 26:29 at Rothwell; Grace Roberts with 28:05 at Beeston; Michelle Hancocks with 31:46 and Hilary Lund with 32:44 at Middleton Woods; Vicky Houghton with 24:13 at Armley; and Jane-Marie Bracchi with 26:25 at Penistone.
John Pratt joined the parkrun 50 club with his run at Woodhouse Moor and Richard Edwards racked up his 200th parkrun with his first run at Fountains Abbey.
Top Age Grade% by the ladies was 70.98% by Anna Stocks at Gunpowder and for the men was 78.55% by Steve Rhodes at Rothwell.
