parkrundays 28th and 30th November 2019
Thursday 28th November was Thanksgiving Day in the US and Canada and it was also an extra parkrunday there. Super Hyde Park Harrier tourist Tom Elcock took advantage of this to add Jamaica Pond at Harvard University, Boston, USA to the Hyde Park Harriers’ venue list on Thanksgiving Day and then add Frédéric-Back parkrun in Montréal, Canada on the normal parkrunday this week. Eighty-eight other Hyde Park Hariers ran on parkrunday at 29 other venues. These included Tami Bond who added another US parkrun to the list with Durham in North Carolina and Emma Amor who added Oriam parkrun at Heriot Watt University outside Edinburgh.
There were three first finishing Hyde Park Harriers. These were Anna Stocks in a PB time of 20:12 at Woodhouse Moor and a clean sweep at Keppel parkrun at HMP/YOI Wetherby with Alys Griffiths taking the top spot in 26:00 ahead of Tom Mason in 26:01. Alys now holds the SW25-29 record and Tom the SM25-29 record at Keppel. Rumours that they were heading towards Wetherby parkrun to take part in this week’s Leeds Race Series there but got lost following Jaz Bangerh who also ran at Keppel are totally unfounded! There were five other PBs. These were by Naomi Adkins with 23:23 at York; Sarah Farnell with 30:24 at Brighouse; Naomi Kellett with 21:48 at Roundhay; Vicky Houghton with 23:50 at Poolsbrook; and Jamie Dobson with 25:17 at Queen’s.
Cara Sass joined the parkrun 100 club with her run at York and Dan Waas completed his 300th parkrun with his run at Peckham Rye.
Top Age Grade% by the ladies was 73.27% by Anna Stocks at Woodhouse Moor and for the men was 71.54% by Chris Jones at Bakewell.
