Despite lots of Harriers out racing at Dewsbury the following day there were still an impressive 57 HPH Women and 47 HPH Men out parkrunning across 40 different venues this week. Two more parkrun courses were added to the HPH list. Both were between places. There was Bedworth between Coventry and Nuneaton by Nicki Derrick and Jamie Ryan. This one is around the Miners Welfare Park and has the unusual feature that it is also the venue of an independent 5K run on a Sunday that starts at 9am. The Sunday 5K Run predates the parkrun. The other new parkrun course was Lancing Beach Green between Worthing and Brighton by Eleanor Colman. This course passes by Widewater Lagoon which is the only known location of Ivell’s Sea Anemone – although it is probably extinct as it hasn’t been seen since 1996.
There was one first finishing Hyde Park Harrier – who else but super speedy Amy Ramsden-Young in 19:51 in her first time at Barnsley. There were six PBs. These were by Dominic O’Key with 19:10, William Watkins with 20:11, Grace Roberts with 25:30; and Sam Edwards with 29:39 at Woodhouse Moor; Jack Rose with 22:44 at York; and Tom Williams with 24:57 at Conyngham Hall.
Top female Age Grade% was 74.90% by Amy Ramsden-Young at Barnsley and top male Age Grade% was 74.24% by Mike Gallagher at York.
