There were 72 HPH women, 65 HPH men and 1 HPH undeclared out parkrunning across 40 venues this week which saw a record breaking turnout of 824 at Woodhouse Moor including 67 Hyde Park Harriers.
Twenty Hyde Park Harriers travelled to try out a new course one of which was new the HPH list. This was Tamworth Castle Grounds by John Blatherwick and Caroline Young. Tamworth Castle is a Grade I listed Norman castle overlooking the mouth of the River Anker into the River Tame in the town of Tamworth in Staffordshire. It is today one of the best preserved motte-and-bailey castles in England. The parkrun course is a mainly flat two laps around the castle grounds. It takes in the Planet Walk – a sculpture trail set within the castle gardens, with ten representations of the solar system, from the Sun through to Pluto.
There were three first finishing Hyde Park Harriers. These were Andrew Dewar in 20:12 at Wynyard Woodland, Cara Gates in 24:02 at Epworth Equestrian and Frazer Carr in 17:12 at Zuiderpark in The Netherlands. There were ten PBs. These were by Jack Clarke with 21:05, Rob Heap with 22:53, Amber Edwards with 24:22 and Meg Coleman with 33:24 at Woodhouse Moor; Vicky Houghton with 23:27 at Temple Newsam; Peter White with 31:48 at Hillsbrough; Steve Milne with 24:11 at Middleton Woods; Simon Burton with 22:12 and Frances Andrews with 31:30 at Potternewton; and Robin Culshaw with 23:47 at Roberts Park.
Timothy Linley joined the parkrun 100 club with his run at Woodhouse Moor.
Top female Age Grade% was 70.72% by Hilary Lund at Pontefract and top male Age Grade% was 75.10% by Frazer Carr at Zuiderpark.
