There were 66 HPH women and 71 HPH men out parkrunning across 54 venues worldwide this week.
Twenty-five Hyde Park Harriers travelled to try out a new course. One of these courses was new to the HPH list. This was Deerpark in Ireland by Chris Worfolk.
Deerpark parkrun course is three laps anti-clockwise around trail paths in Deerpark Community Park in the village of Carlanstown, County Meath. The park was developed as part of Meath Partnership for their Village Renaissance Initiative for the provision of recreational amenities and facilities for all age groups and the development of regular community events to facilitate greater social interaction within the community. The development of the Deerpark site began with the agreement with Meath County Council to lease the 40 acre site of the Deerpark lands back to the community in 2014. December 2018 saw the start of the Deerpark parkrun.
There were two first finishing Hyde Park Harriers. These were Frazer Carr in a PB time of 18:28 at Wimpole Estate and Lucy McKerrell in 20:56 on her first time at Donaupark in Austria. There were eleven other PBs. These were by Jonathan Spain with 18:27 and Douglas Blackwood with 20:00 at Woodhouse Moor; Fleur Siswick with 23:13 at Norwich; Edward Hale with 18:33 at Pontefract; Paul Jones with 26:22 and Teejay Jones with 48:19 at Rothwell; Alex Greenwood with 20:46 at Fell Foot; Megan Foster with 25:21 at Chevin Forest; Mike Gallagher with 18:41 at Roberts Park; Andrew Black with 18:54 at University Parks and Brenda Gannon with 27:22 at Kawana on Sunshine Coast in Australia.
Dan Lee joined the parkrun 50 club with his run at Woohouse Moor. Naomi Miles joined the parkrun 250 club with her run at Roundhay.
Top female Age Grade% was 71.47% by Honor Baldry at Woodhouse Moor and top male Age Grade% was 74.33% by Reuben Keating at Cross Flatts.
