There were 58 HPH women and 70 HPH men out parkrunning across 51 venues worldwide this week.

Thirty-one Hyde Park Harriers travelled to try out a new course. One of these was new to the HPH list. This was Las Malcanów in Poland by Chris Carrick. Las Malcanów parkrun is an out and back on a forest trail outside the village of Malcanów about 25km to the south east of Warsaw. The forest has deer and moose and is popular with hikers and cyclists. There is a monument at the entrance to the forest to commemorate Operation “Pierzyna” – an historic clandestine World War II tactical airdrop on the night of April 3–4, 1944. The flight delivered critical operational assets directly into occupied territory. Four elite, British-trained Polish paratroopers jumped during the operation. The aircraft successfully dropped nine metal canisters and six packages containing weapons and military hardware. The paratroopers carried nearly $500,000 USD in cash to fund local Polish resistance operations against Nazi forces. Upon landing, the local Polish Home Army unit quickly gathered the supplies, packed them onto horse-drawn carts, and hid them in a nearby farm. The four paratroopers were safely sheltered by local families before being secretly routed into the underground network in Warsaw. Their specialized expertise in communications and aviation made them vital assets, and three of them fought fiercely in the historic Warsaw Uprising of August 1944.

There were four first finishing Hyde Park Harriers. These were Clare Slorach in 21:55 at Potternewton; Honor Baldry in 24:02 at Parke; Lucas Johnstone in a PB time of 16:40 at Woodhouse Moor; and Douglas Blackwood in a PB time of 18:06 at Bramley. There were five other PBs. These were by Catherine McGuire with 27:39 at Roberts Park; Sylvia McClellan with 31:28 and Amber Edwards with 29:00 at Armley; and Emily Tasker with 32:38 and Jonathan Spain with 17:54 at Woodhouse Moor.

Charlotte Corner and Ropafadzo Noah joined the parkrun 25 club with their runs at Preston and Armley respectively.

Top female Age Grade% was 74.37% by Lucy McKerrell at Princes and top male Age Grade% was 77.40% by Lucas Johnstone at Woodhouse Moor.
