Abbey Dash – Road Championship Rnd 6 of 7

Well the results are in and Championship points totalled.  How are you doing with only one round to go.

There was an amazing turnout of 84 Hyde Park Harriers at the Abbey Dash, with the weather not as bad as first feared.  41 Ladies and 43 men ran to the Abbey and back, with many PB’s along the way so well done all.

George Anderson was the first harrier home in 35.39.  Stan Karanasios was only 9 seconds behind with Matthew Pinnock 3rd.  1st lady was Rachel Bourne in 43.24, with Claire Geeson next in 43.43 and Helen Close 3rd.

Ladies Premier division – Taking her 5th maximum score and with only 5 rounds counting from 7 Rachel Bourne is our Premier Division Road Champion for this year.  Congratulations on a great year Rachel.  Pushing her all the way though has been Rebecca Rogers and there is now a close battle for 3rd between Vicky Houghton and Claire Lyons.  15 out of 20 ladies have scored, are 5 going to get relegated??

Ladies 1st division – It was a 2nd maximum score in a row for Claire Geeson who is now 5 points clear of Hilary Lund.  The battle for the top spot is down too these two.  Ruth Hancox and Catherine Hayward are pushing for promotion.  13/20 have scored points, 7 to go down at this stage.

Ladies 2nd division – Its a really tight battle at the top between Lucy Rider, Hannah Marshall and Clare Evans and its anyone’s guess how this will turn out.  Its a case of what could have been though as maximum points went to Helen Close, this is her 3rd max score from the 3 rounds she has entered.  31 ladies have scored points.

Mens Premier division – This is a really tight division at the top.  Stan took his 4th maximum score from 4 rounds entered so can he get the full house.  Ken Fox and James Booth have 81 points and are dropping scores already and Chris Smith is close on 77.  17/20 have scored so only 3 will go down.

Mens 1st division – Matthew Pinnock took the top points but its Anthony Aimon leading the way on 76 points with Tom Eales on 67.  Dan Cross is 3rd on 56.  17/20 have scored so again only 3 to go down.

Mens 2nd division – The top spot is done and dusted with Scott Watson taking the honours, well done Scott.  Tom Pollard is 2nd with John Blatherwick 3rd at the moment.  George Anderson took the maximum points from his first outing.
