The month of May was the 2nd round of the club parkrun championship and the venue was Armley. This has to be the flattest parkrun in Leeds and has a mixture of tarmac and grass, lots of PB potential.
42 Harriers posted a time to claim their best age grading of the month and it was a straight split between the men and the ladies at 21 each.
We had three first finishers, Michael Vargas and Anna Stocks in week 1 and Amy Young in week 3.
Lots of Harriers claimed course PB’s, 22 in total and they were – Anna, Clare Evans, Lizzie Coombes, Jo Rhodes (she got two in the month), Laura Hastings, Sarah Underwood, Diane Aykroyd, Caroline Sanders, Laura Garratt, Clare Mason, Steve Rhodes, Michael, Greg Billenness, Paul Sawyer, Mike Webb, Mohammed Aslam, Tom Mason, Peter White, John Hayes, Richard Edwards, Stuart Harris and Curtis Ledger.
So onto the age grading and the best of the month went to Steve Rhodes who posted a 78.68 in week 1. He topped last month as well so has had a great start.
Keeping him honest though was Michael Vargas with a 76.63 in week 1. 3rd best for the men was Lee Taylor with a 69.54.
Into the ladies and Amy Young came out on top with a 72.73 in week 3 while Anna Stocks came 2nd with a 70.87 in week 1. Clare Evans was 3rd best with 67.89 in week 3.
You can follow Ken Fox’s weekly round ups for all the grades of which we are very grateful as always.
So after 2 months we have has 34 ladies post a parkrun score and 26 men. Of this number 17 ladies have scored both months and 12 men. We also have people posting times at Woodhouse Moor through out the year for the final point scoring chance, I will up date this next month.
