Chevin Chase

Torrential rain, floods, loads of mud and huge puddles greeted the 23 Harriers on Boxing day at the Chevin Chase for round 6 of the Off Road Championship.

Everyone who took part should be proud of themselves and will probably be telling the story of this race for years to come.

David Driver was first Harrier home in 9th overall, with Liam O’Brien next in 29th and Ben Hartley 49th.  For the ladies Rebecca Rogers came 190th With Monica Padilla next in 230th and Lucy Rider in 493rd.

Championship wise with still a round to go after this we have champions to announce.

In the Mens Premier Division Ben picked up his first points of the season with a maximum score, and James Vickers moved up to equal 2nd with Chris Smith but James Booth still leads the way.

In the Mens 1st division only David Driver scored which moves him up to 2nd but Tom Eales still leads the way.

Finally for the men, Scott Watson is champion in the 2nd division.  Liam O’Brien scored his 2nd maximum score from 2 events but is still some way down the order.  A good result moved Paul Sawyer up to 2nd.

In the ladies Premier division Rebecca Rogers took another maximum score, her 5th from 5 events and giving her the maximum score and the Championship.

Rachel Bourne is 1st division champion with out being at the Chevin.  Jaz was the only scorer and it was her first score of the year.

The 2nd division will go all the way to the final round with Lucy Rider leading the way after a top score at the Chevin.  Dote Stone is close behind and both will be at the final round.

The final round is two different events.  The Yorkshire Cross Country championship and the Temple Newsam 10 miler.  The best score from either will count.
