Dewsbury 10K

The final round of the club road championship and there was 29 Harriers (17 men and 12 ladies) ready to take on the out and back 10k route in Dewsbury.  Its not quite flat but with just a slight climb in the first 5k the worst of which is K 4 to 5, you then turn round and run back down.  Lots of PB potential.

Well it turned out that the course was slightly longer this year, with the turn being 200 meters out, so even more to be pleased about if you smashed the course and got a PB.  All the Harriers seem to have a great run.

1st Harrier home and claiming the club road championship was Philip Goose in 25th place and an excellent time of 34.49.  Phil has had an amazing year taking 7 top scores in the Premier division out of 7 starts.

Next Harrier home and scoring his first points in the 2nd division was Angus Milne in another excellent time of 36.38 and I believe he beat his 5k PB on the way out and then beat that on the way back.

Scott Watson finished his excellent year in the 1st division with his 6th maximum points haul, coming home in 91st and a time of 37.46.

The next 3 Harriers home all picked up 2nd place points in there division.  Michael Taylor (2nd) in 38.54, Chris Smith (Prem) in 39.11 and Dan Donnelly (1st) in 41.49.

First of the Harriers ladies home was Clare Evans in an new PB time of 46.47 claiming top points in the club 1st division.

2nd home and claiming maximum points in the 2nd division of which she was champion and it was Lois Gardner in a time of 47.55.

3rd home and taking 2nd place points was Denise Hofman in a time of 50.16 with Matilda Rhodes close behing in 50.29.

The Premier league top 2 were also the top 2 in the final championship standings.  Sarah Farnell coming home not to far ahead of Clare Maxwell.
