Final parkrun month

February and the HPH parkrun championship entered its final month with us being back at home with Woodhouse Moor the venue.  There was still a top spot to claim in both the mens and ladies championsips.

When it is Woodhouse we always get lots of scores on the board.  This month we had two 1st finishers in Phil Goose and new member Clare Slorach.  There was new PB’s for Clare, Anna Stocks, Emma Brown, Alice Webb, Mike Gallagher, Tobias Adkins and Jonathan Spain.

This was Clare’s first point scoring month and she took top age grading for the ladies with a 75.98 followed by Anna Stocks on 70.93 and Fiona Blyth on 69.44.

Championship wise Emma Brown lead the ladies championship ahead of Alison Pullan and it was Alison who came out on top this month with a 65.54 against Emma’s 63.02 which was with a broken elbow.  Even with this Emma held on at the top of the table to win the title 1048 to 1039.

Into the mens and it was Michael Vargas who came out with the top age grading with a 76.26 just ahead of the championship battle between Chris Jones and Steve Rhodes.

Chris had a very slender lead heading into the final month.  Steve did everything he could posting the 2nd best age grading of the month with a 76.04 but Chris was hot on his heals with a 74.96 which was enough to give him the crown by 1085 to 1083.

Its been a great year of competition and touring around Leeds and hopefully will be the same for the coming year.  It will again be over 11 month between April and the end of February but this time with 12 chances to score as the new round 12 will be your best Woodhouse score from any weekend over the course of the championship.
