HPH parkrun Championships parkrunday 27

This week there were a whopping 57 Hyde Park Harriers out parkrunning on what was International parkrun Day, including 37 at Woodhouse Moor joining in their 9th birthday celebrations. Three parkrun venues saw their first Hyde Park Harriers. These were Chester by Graeme Miles; Jersey by Dan Waas; and Kuzminki in Moscow, Russia where Tom Williams was down as Первый забег! (First race!) in the results table – it’s a run not a race parkrun comrades in Russia!  Not only is Tom the first Hyde Park Harrier to parkrun at Kuzminki but he is also the first Hyde Park Harrier to parkrun in Russia.

There were seven PBs. These were by Sarah Farnell with 26:03 at Halifax; Hilary Lund with 27:24 at Wetherby; Michael Vargas with 16:54; Tom Mason with 19:45; John Blatherwick with 21:49; & John Hayes with 22:27 at Woodhouse Moor; and Kathryn Hogg with 27:55 at York.

Caroline Young joined the parkrun 50 club and Richard Edwards joined the parkrun 100 club – both running at Woodhouse Moor.

Diane Aykroyd picked up an Award at the annual Woodhouse Moor birthday awards ceremony held in the University Refectory after the parkrun.
