HPH parkrun Championships parkrunday 46

There were 52 Hyde Park Harriers out parkrunning at 21 different venues across three continents this weekend. These included Tom Pollard at Western Springs, Auckland, New Zealand; Nicola Forwood and Poppy at St Peter’s Park in Sydney, Australia and Sue Smith who popped up again in Uvongo, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

Rachel Eales was first female finisher at Grangemoor, Cardiff for the second time with a new PB of 19:46. There were five other PBs. These were by Hannah Marshall with 23:26 at Keswick; Lucy Rider with 26:23 at Pontefract; John Hayes with 24:06 at Roundhay; Clare Evans with 22:42 at Southport; and Sue Smith with 33:44 at Uvongo.

With just four weeks to go and a total of 200 points up for grabs the champions are close to being determined. Hannah Marshall is 162 points clear of Clare Maxwell in the Ladies’ Championship and Chris Jones is 196 points clear of John Hayes in the Mens’ Championship.
