HPH parkrun Championships parkrunday 49

There were 58 Hyde Park Harriers out parkrunning at 13 different venues this weekend. This brings the total number of parkruns run by Hyde Park Harriers this season to 2608, surpassing last season’s total of 2583 and there are still five parkruns to go this season. So with just 5 x 50 = 250 points to play for it also means that the champions are now determined for both the Women’s and Men’s Championships. Rebecca Rodgers is 267 points ahead of second placed Hannah Marshall and David Womersley is 279 points ahead of me. So many congratulations to our new parkrun champions.

There were five PBs this week. These were by Richard Edwards with 27:15 at Bramley; Chris Jones with 19:59 at Fountains Abbey; Aron Hinds with 20:38, John Blatherwick with 22:23 and Heather Fulton with 25:24 at Woodhouse Moor.

Andrew Nicholls joined the parkrun 250 club with his run at Huddersfield.

At Woodhouse Moor parkrun Hyde Park Harrier Liam Brown was fundraising to go to Malawi in August to take part in a local community project with other nursing and midwifery students from University of Southampton. He could be seen running around the parkrun course in a delightful pair of bright yellow, heeled boots.
