John Carr 1

The second round of the club Road Championship is the John Carr 5k race series.  It is 3 Wednesday evenings in a row and we count the best time from the 3 events.  For the Club Competitor championship it’s 5 points to anyone who enters one of the round.

It was a glorious evening for the first round on the new look route.  Its an out and back route that is fast and a little less twisty compared to previous years  but still had the slight climb/downhill section.

11 Harriers did the first round (6men and 5 ladies).  Fastest home was Liam O’Brien in 16.30.  He claimed top points in the 1st division at the Wakefield 10k and this time will take some beating.

Philip Goose was next in 17.19 and felt there was more to come and is entered for all 3.  He will be scoring some very strong Premier league points.  At this stage Scott Watson is only entered for this event and came home in a strong 17.24 and 2nd in the 1st division.

Chris Smith claimed top premier league points at Wakefield and is 2nd so far here with 18.11.  Chris Jones (20.05) and Richard Edwards (25.29) both have times in the bag.

None of the ladies entered at the 1st John Carr had scored points at Wakefield.  Clare Evans was first Harrier in 22.55 and is hoping to take top points in the 1st division.  Lois Gardner from the 2nd division was next in 23.24 and Samantha Scarlett in 26.25.

Emma Amor from the 1st division came hone in 26.35 and Liz Jones from the Premier division in 34.05 all enjoyed there sunny evening 5k, just watch out for the midges at the next one.
