John Carr Race 3

Wow the pace was hot on Wednesday night for the John Carr 5k of the series and also the last chance to score points for this round of the club Road Championship.

Another excellent turnout out of 28 Hyde Park Harriers were in the field of 386 runners, with Chris Mann leading them home in 12th overall in a time of 16.35.  Anthony Aimon was next in 17.40 with Chris Smith in 3rd with a time of 18.01.

HPH ladies were lead home by Rachel Bourne with a time of 19.31, then Helen Close with 21.34 and Hannah Marshall in 23.56.

Of the 28 Harriers, 14 were new scorers and another 9 were faster than a previous week.

Over the 3 races which make up one round for the club we have had an excellent turnout of 29 men and 18 ladies.  Its been great to see lots of new faces as well.  8 Harriers took part in all 3 rounds and they were – Anthony Aimon, Charlie Jackett, David Womersley, Tom Mason, Andrew Maddock, Richard Edwards, Michael Mason (unfortunately an injured meant he didn’t finish the final race) and Clare Maxwell.

Great to have a cheering squad just after the Woolpack pub.  Again failed to get a pic of everyone and I had to add the 2nd as were photo bombed.

Championship points to follow, please note we are having to amend the race one times as the route was short by 30 yards.  Hopefully everyone understands and the maths we are using is the fairest way we could come up with.
