Off Road Championship after 3 Rounds

The Pudsey 10k was round 3 of the club off road championship and yet again a great turnout for the club with 33 runners taking on this challenging route.  It has a fair bit of road but a good mix of gravel and tracks through trees and some tough hills.

David Driver lead the men home in 7th followed by George Anderson in 10th and Anthony Aimon in 11th.  Rachel Bourne was 1st HPH lady in 31st, with Monica Padilla and Claire Geeson next up.

The club won a reward as they came in as 1st club team, great performance everyone.

The divisions are getting interesting –

Mens Premier – Chris Smith is going strong as is going to take some beating with a maximum score after 3 rounds.  Chris Taylor is 2nd followed by James Booth.  15 out of the 20 named premier runners have scored points so far.

Mens 1st Division – David Driver leads with 39 points followed by Anthony Aimon and Tom Eales.  There has been 3 different class winners from 3 events and only 9 of the named 19 runners have scored so far.

Mens 2nd Division – Scott Watson has a 1 point lead over Tom Martin then George Anderson who has now scored maximum points on the last 2 rounds.  There has been 15 scorers so far.

Ladies Premier –  Vicky Houghton leads from Victoria Taylor.  Rebecca Rogers won the 1st two rounds but wasn’t here at this one, Monica Padilla took the maximum points here.  Only 5 out of the named 15 runners have scored so far.

Ladies 1st Division – Its all very close with Rachel Bourne’s two maximum scorers giving here the lead over Clare Geeson and Robin Culshaw.  Again not to many runners so far with 6 out of the 15 scoring.

Ladies 2nd Division – Lucy Rider leads after winning the last 2 rounds.  The winner of the 1st round Dote Stone is next up followed by Caroline Young.  8 scorers so far.

So with 3 rounds gone out of 7 and the best 5 scores to count there is still plenty to play for and would be great to see a few more runners out.  With Post Hill moving back to October we have a break in the championship with the next round not until September, enjoy the break.
