Otley Chevin Fell Race 2015

The HPH Fell Championship got started on Wednesday night with a trip over to Otley.  25 HPH-ers had a go at this years event- a 4.5km sprint from the bottom of the Chevin…to the top…and back down again.

It’s a steep 210m climb to the top, with some brilliant views once you get up there- and the dry weather was perfect for a bit of fast decending, and a sprint into the finish.

Another great HPH turnout for a local event and a record turnout for a Fell Championship race.  Some excellent individual performances as well, with Chris Mann breaking Stans HPH course record by 7 seconds (new record 19:51).  Rachel Bourne was 3rd lady overall with a time of 22:25.  Only one casualty- with Ken Fox pulling up just before the top of the Chevin with leg issues…hopefully he’ll be back racing soon.
