Numbers were down a little bit this week with only 38 HPH Women and 40 HPH Men out parkrunning across 25 different venues. Perhaps it was the cold weather with icy conditions that caused a few local parkruns to be cancelled or maybe down to the bacchanalia the night before at the Hyde Park Harriers’ Christmas Party. Ten Hyde Park Harriers tried out a new course, but no new ones were added to the HPH list. The second most popular course after Woodhouse Moor was Potternewton where nine Hyde Park Harriers in the know were able to hobnob with parkrun founder Paul Sinton-Hewitt and former 5000 metres world record holder David Moorcroft.

There were four first finishing Hyde Park Harriers. These were Amy Ramsden-Young in a PB time of 18:26 at York; Rob Riley in his first time at Thetford in 19:31; Alice Young in a PB time of 24:42 at Chipping Norton School; and William Watkins in his first time at Blenheim in New Zealand – the centre of the New Zealand wine industry – in 19:33. There were three other PBs. These were by Tom Elcock with 22:13 at Rothwell; Frances Andrews with 32:46 at Potternewton; and Helen Williams with 24:29 at Chevin Forest.

Michelle Dickson joined the parkrun 50 club with her run at Woodhouse Moor.

Top female Age Grade% was 80.83% by Amy Ransden Young at York and top male Age Grade% was 69.33% by Tobias Adkins at Woodhouse Moor.
