There were 67 HPH women and 67 HPH men out parkrunning across 57 venues worldwide this week.
Forty Hyde Park Harriers travelled to try out a new course. One of these courses was new to the HPH list. This was Perry Lakes in Australia by Heather Godacre. The parkrun course is two laps on a mixture of asphalt and grass around the Perry Lakes Reserve. The Reserve is a nature reserve located approximately 4.3 miles west of Perth in the suburb of Floreat. Within the 200-acre reserve are two lakes, East Lake and West Lake. The reserve dates from 1962 when the area was landscaped in association with the construction of Perry Lakes Stadium and associated sporting tracks and facilities for the 1962 British Empire and Commonwealth Games. The Australian Scout Jamboree has been held in the parkland twice, during the summers of 1979/80 and 1994/95. The sporting complex was demolished in 2011 to make way for housing development.
There was one first finishing Hyde Park Harrier. This was Clare Slorach in 21:52 at Potternewton. There were nine PBs. These were by Lydia Williams in 33:14 at Arrow Valley; Simon McGrath with 19:53 at Warrington; Alexander Bell with 22:24 at Huddersfield; Jessica Wanless with 30:15 at Burgess; Vicky Houghton with 24:26 at Nostell; Becky Webb with 27:12, Sarah Jewers with 28:00 and Alice Houldcroft 28:53 at Bramley; and Rob Riley with 20:47 at Fitzmaurice Park.
There were no new members of the official parkun milestone clubs, but Chris Carrick reached 300 parkruns and Surinder Bhatti reached 350 parkruns with their runs at Woodhouse Moor. Phil Lindsay is now on 499 parkruns following his run at Woodhouse Moor.
Top female Age Grade% was 69.67% by Hilary Lund at Wetherby and top male Age Grade% was 76.18% by Ian Martinson at Hull.
