There were 48 HPH women and 53 HPH men out parkrunning across 40 venues this week.
Twenty-one Hyde Park Harriers travelled to try out a new course and amongst them two new courses were added to the HPH list. These were Tymon in Ireland by Chris Worfolk and Harleston Magpies in Suffolk by Rob Riley – where he was first finisher in 20:53.
Tymon Park is a large suburban park of over 300 acres in South West Dublin that straddles the M50 motorway. The River Poddle flows through the park, filling two bigger lakes and several interconnecting smaller ponds or water features that all attract waterfowl. Tymon Park is commonly used for walking, jogging and field sports. The park contains 29 pitches for soccer, gaelic football, hurling, etc. There are also a number of waymarked woodland trails with interpretations of woodland features provided. The parkrun course is two laps of the northern half of the park, taking in Tymon Lake and crossing the River Poddle over a footbridge.
Harleston Magpies parkrun course is three laps on grass round the perimeter and the centre of the two training fields adjacent to the Harleston Magpies Hockey Club all weather pitches. Although the market town of Harleston is in Norfolk, the parkrun course is just over the border and is entirely inside Suffolk.
There were six PBs. These were by Daniel Laycock with 22:20 and Andrew Smallwood with 26:17 at Woodhouse Moor; Emma Brown with 21:51 at Norwich; Sophie Studholme with 23:53 at Braunstone; Eleanor Williams with 24:04 at Chester; and Paul Robinson with 23:29 at Roundhay.
Top female Age Grade% was 70.13% by Jane Prust and top male Age Grade% was 73.91% by Gordon Crawford – both at Woodhouse Moor.
