The HPH women were back on top this weekend with 45 of them vs 36 HPH men out parkrunning. One new venue was added to the HPH list – Peel Park in Salford by Tom Williams. Peel Park was one of the world’s first public parks when it opened in 1846 in response to an appeal to provide Public Walks or Open Spaces, fitted to afford means of exercise or amusement to the middle or humbler classes. It was named after then Prime Minister Sir Robert Peel who had both supported the idea and provided large sums of money. It’s certainly a most fitting venue for a parkrun and appreciated by those of us in the humbler classes.
The were two first finishing Hyde Park Harriers – Amy Ramsden-Young at Woodhouse Moor in 20:18 and Rupert Jordan who joined the parkrun 50 club with his run at Belton House in 17:24. There were five PBs. These were by Gregor Lawson with 21:25 at Woodhouse Moor; Jo Rhodes with 27:56 at Nostell; Jaz Bangerh with 36:38 at Potternewton; Steve Rhodes with 21:51 at Chevin Forest; and Tami Bond with 29:38 at South Bolder Creek in Colorado, USA.
Top female Age Grade% was 73.23% by Amy Ramsden-Young at Woodhouse Moor and top male Age Grade% was 77.30% by Rupert Jordan at Belton House.
