There were a nice round one hundred Hyde Park Harriers out parkrunning this week, across 29 different venues around the parkrun world. These included three interantional parkruns – Gary Grant in Ballincollig, Ireland; Andrew Nicholls in Firenze, Italy; and Alys Griffiths in the Kompleks Futsal Presint 18 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Rather surprisingly there were no Hyde Park Harriers at this month’s venue in the Hyde Park Harriers’ parkrun Championship – Temple Newsam.
There were three first finishing Hyde Park Harriers. These were Mike Gallagher in 19:30 at Roundhay; Clare Slorach in 21:21 at Potternewton; and Alys Griffiths at Presint 18 in Malaysia.
With quite a few parkruns in the UK called off due to icy conditions it’s not too surprising that the number of PBs was down with only four being recorded this week. These were by Richard Edwards with 24:49 at Woodhouse Moor; Chris Carrick with 25:28 at Bromley; Anna Stocks with 24:13 at Roding Valley; and Sam Dooley with 31:20 at Middleton Woods.
Eleanor Parkhill and Curtis Ledger joined the parkrun 50 club with their runs at Woodhouse Moor, with Curtis running alongside birthday girl Jaz Bangerh whose years now match Curtis’s parkruns.
Top Age Grade% by the ladies was 70.64% by Rebecca Gray at Heaton and for the men was 73.39% by Philip Fisher at Bakewell.
