There were 49 HPH Women and 42 HPH Men out parkrunning across 34 different venues this week. Two new venues were added to the HPH list. These were Wickford Memorial near Basildon by Niall Flynn and University Parks in Oxford by Ruth Norman. Wickford Memorial Park was conceived in 1946 as a War memorial for the losses of Wickford lives during World War II. In January 1947 the organisers of the War Memorial Fund Committee purchased land, via public fund-raising at the Runwell Road site – a rather appropriate name for a parkrun course. The land on which the University Parks is now sited has been an area for recreation for a long time, and it is said to have been used by Charles II to walk his dog in 1685. I wonder if he had to use a short, handheld, non-extendable lead.

There were three first finishing Hyde Park Harriers. These were Rupert Jordan in 17:27 at Boston; Naomi Miles in a PB of 21:30 at Potternewton; and Sarah Underwood in 23:05 at Salcey Forest. There were eight other PBs. These were by John Pratt with 18:55 and Jane Prust with 26:22 at Woodhouse Moor; Sam Dooley with 22:32 at Huddersfield; Alexander Perkin with 24:02 at Roundhay; Karly Stringer with 29:19 at Oakwell Hall; Anna Stocks with 19:33 and Vicky Houghton with 23:20 at Armley; and Jonathan Spain with 19:27 at Potternewton.

Nick Payne joined the parkrun 100 club with his run at Woodhouse Moor.

Top female Age Grade% was 75.73% by Jane Prust at Woodhouse Moor and top male Age Grade% was 77.08% by Rupert Jordan at Boston.
