No snow and ice across the North of England this week, indeed the temperature reached double figures at parkrun o’clock at Woodhouse Moor, so there was the normal imprerssive turnout of Hyde Park Harriers. Overall there were 51 HPH women and 51 HPH men out parkrunning across 32 venues. Seventeen Hyde Park Harriers tried out a new course but all of them were already on the HPH list so no new ones for the club this week.
There was one first finishing Hyde Park Harrier. This was Anna Stocks in 22:13 on her first visit to Flatts Lane Woodland Country Park in Normanby on the outskirts of Middlesbrough. She was first finisher overall, well ahead of the first man who finished in 23:59. There were eight PBs. These were by Gregor Lawson with 19:39 and Jonathan Pryor with 26:25 at Woodhouse Moor; Mike Gallagher with 17:55 at York; Joe Lawley with 21:50 at Aviemore; Simon McGrath with 20:19 at Warrington; Nicki Derrick with 26:29 at Rothwell; Poppy Forwood with 43:15 at Huddersfield; and Eleanor Williams with 24:36 at Armley.
Jonathan Coade and Joseph Elmes joined the parkrun 25 club and David Grealy joined the parkrun 100 club with their runs at Woodhouse Moor. As well as celebrating his 100th with family and friends who popped over to Leeds from Ireland, David Grealy was only 1s outside his Woodhouse Moor PB. This was quick enough for him to able to join the team of volunteers scanning barcodes at the end, ahead of the peak in finishers. Much appreciated by all the runners at Woodhouse Moor.
Top female Age Grade% was 69.49% by Jane Prust at Woodhouse Moor and top male Age Grade% was 75.63% by Mike Gallagher at York.
