There were 60 HPH women and 60 HPH men out parkrunning across 38 venues this week.
Twenty-three Hyde Park Harriers travelled to try out a new course. One of these was new to the HPH list. This was Kilkenny by Chris Worfolk – his 31st out of the 109 parkrun courses in Ireland.
The Kilkenny parkrun course is three loops around Kilkenny Castle Park. It goes past Kilkenny Castle; an outdoor café; a duck pond; and a Dog Cemetery. Built in the twelfth century, Kilkenny Castle is set in extensive parkland. Since being taken over by the Irish State in 1969 the castle has undergone ambitious restoration works. It now welcomes thousands of visitors a year.
There were four finishing Hyde Park Harriers. These were Coralie Bell in a PB time of 19:42 at Woodhouse Moor; Clare Slorach in 20:58 at Roundhay; Alexandra Natalie Smith in a PB time of 25:20 at Bramley; and Amber Edwards in 25:44 at Potternewton. There were five other PBs. These were by Cara Gates with 24:51 at Pontefract; Paul Robinson with 23:14 at Dewsbury; Amy Ramsden-Young with 27:31 at Hillsborough; Grace Roberts with 26:26 at Armley; and Tom McNeillie with 24:46 at The Pastures.
Daisy Wales joined the parkrun 50 club with her run at Woodhouse Moor.
Top female Age Grade% was 75.13% by Coralie Bell at Woodhouse Moor and top male Age Grade% was 71.57% by Tom Thomas at Pontefract.
