There were 63 Hyde Park Harriers out parkrunning across 13 different venues this week. All were in the UK apart from Tom Williams who popped over to Dublin to run at Cabinteely Park.

Quite a few former Hyde Park Harriers were spotted this week. These included Manesha Chauhan who returned to Woodhouse Moor to join the parkrun 50 club – almost five years after her first parkrun at Leeds back in September 2012. It was good to see a plethora of other HPH both old and new there to join in the celebrations including Scott Henderson and Lucy Killick. Brenda Gannon was also spotted down in Australia parkrunning at Stones Corner in Brisbane. Even though it’s winter in Australia it’s  rather warm so they start a couple hours earlier at 7am in Brisbane and the temperature still often exceeds the summer temperature in Leeds.

There were seven PBs this week. These were by Robert Howard with 20:11; Aron Hinds with 20:53; Nichola Moreland with 22:49; Alys Griffiths with 27:14; Tom Mason with 27:15 and Jo Rhodes with 28:30 at Roundhay; and Chris Bracchi with 25:57 at Woodhouse Moor.

Top Age Grade% by the ladies was 67.89% by Amy Young at Hatfield Forest near Bishop’s Stortford – where she was the first HPH to run and for the men was 77.27% by Chris Jones to secure maximum points in the men’s HPH parkrun Championships this month at Roundhay.

The HPH parkrun Championships switches to Temple Newsam for July.
