There were 56 HPH women and 69 HPH men out parkrunning across 50 venues worldwide this week.
Twenty-three Hyde Park Harriers travelled to try out a new course. One of these was new to the HPH list. This was Queenswood Country Park in Leominster by Jo Rhodes.
Queenswood Country Park & Arboretum is Herefordshire Wildlife Trust’s most visited nature reserve. Queenswood is also home to a nationally important arboretum and acres of semi-natural ancient woodland which are designated as Sites of Special Scientific Interest. The park has waymarked trails, a viewpoint, a playground and a much-loved Gruffalo sculpture trail. The parkrun course is two laps on woodland trails, light gravel, and patchy grass, starting and finishing near the main car park and visitor centre. It is mostly flat, but with a steep, loose gravel climb situated towards the end of each lap.
There were no first finishing Hyde Park Harriers. There were five PBs. These were by Jonathan Spain with 18:07 and Jago Webb with 19:51 at Woodhouse Moor; Harry Webster with 22:54 and Kate Pankhurst with 35:47 at Chevin Forest; and Cara Gates with 23:17 at Dewsbury.
There were no new members of the official parkrun milestone clubs, however Andy Best reached 400 parkruns with his run at Woodhouse Moor.
Top female Age Grade% was 72.06% by Clare Slorach at Huddersfield and top male Age Grade% was 74.52% by Dan Donnelly at Woodhouse Moor.
