There were 75 HPH women and 73 HPH men out parkrunning across 53 venues this week.
Fifty Park Harriers travelled to try out a new course. One of these was new to the HPH list. This was Hikarigaoka koen in Tokyo, Japan by Anna Stocks and Adam Sumnall. Hikarigaoka Park is a former military housing complex and airfield in northern Tokyo. Opened to the public in 1981, it is now a sprawling park full of wide-open spaces and tree-lined paths. It has over 16,000 trees and thousands of blooming plants as well as fields for various sports; a daytime camping field; a BBQ area; a bird sanctuary; an archery range; a pond; a swimming pool; and play areas for children. It is the seventh-largest park in Tokyo. The parkrun course is on tarmac paths within the park.
There were three first finishing Hyde Park Harriers. These were Anna Stocks in 21:30 at Hikarigaoka koen; Samantha Tecwyn in 21:51 at Stratford Park, Stroud; and Frazer Carr in a PB time of 17:00 at Woodhouse Moor. There were ten other PBs. These were by Megan Foster with 23:10, Jill McKnight with 29:19 and Meg Coleman with 30:55 at Woodhouse Moor; Andrew Bassett with 21:51 at Town Moor; Aisling Davis with 24:05 at Harrogate; Andrew Black with 20:54 at Rothwell; Andrew Dewar with 20:58 at Sedgefield; Amber Edwards with 25:40 at Bramley; Paul Robinson with 20:33 at Armley; and Matt Kasher with 18:35 at Coombs in Australia.
Top female Age Grade% was 69.11% by Jane Prust at Potternewton and top male Age Grade% was 76.08% by Frazer Carr at Woodhouse Moor.
