The final parkrunday of 2018 saw an impressive 101 Hyde Park Harriers out parkrunning across 46 different parkrun venues. These included international parkruns for Vikki Hawkins at Amager Strandpark in Denmark; Gillian Ward at Dungloe and Gary Grant at Buncrana in Ireland; and Tami Bond at the Des Moines Beach Park Event Center, WA in the USA – which was a new venue for the Hyde Park Harriers. Three other venues were added to the Hyde Park Harriers venue list. These were Hyndburn by Liz and Chris Jones; Macclesfield by Tom Elcock; and Felixstowe by Poppy and Nicola Forwood.

Amy Young was the only first finishing Hyde Park Harrier with her run in 21:10 at Castle Park, Bishop’s Stortford, although Tom Thomas in a time of  18:32 was only a few seconds behind the first finisher at Bolton and Gary Grant was also a second finisher in a time of 20:09 at Buncrana. There were five PBs. These were by Chris Worfolk in 23:17 at Temple Newsam; Jo Rhodes in 22:46 and Paul Farmery in 25:54 at Heslington; Sarah Markless in 23:46 at Cwmbran; and Maika Ohno in 26:12 at Middleton Woods.

Gary Grant joined the parkrun 100 club and Dan Waas and Sharon Neugebauer joined the parkrun 250 club with their runs at Buncrana, Crystal Palace and Woodhouse Moor respectively. Diane Aykroyd finished her 400th parkrun with her run at Woodhouse Moor.

Top Age Grade% by the ladies was 69.92% by Amy Young at Castle Park and for the men was 75.30% by Steve Rhodes at Heslington.
