The HPH parkrun Championships may be over for the season, but that doesn’t mean that Hyde Park Harriers won’t be out enjoying their parkruns. There were a whopping 100 of them out parkrunning across 32 different venues this week. These included Tom Elcock at Poolbeg parkrun in Sean Moore Park in Sandymount, Dublin and Ralph Kidner at East End parkrun in New Plymouth, New Zealand – being the first Hyde Park Harrier to run there.
Five other new venues were added to the Hyde Park Harriers’ list. These were Greenwich by Dan Waas; Meadowmill near Edinburgh by Emma Amor; Dinton Pastures near Winnersh Triangle by Jaz Bangerh; Marshall Drive near Saltburn-by-the Sea by Liz and Chris Jones – where Chris set the new best VM60-64 time for the course with 22:12; and South Norwood by Clare Evans who was first female finisher in a time of 22:48. There were two other first finishing Hyde Park Harriers. These were Nichola Moreland in 22:53 at Middleton Woods and Honor Baldry with a PB time of 22:10 at Temple Newsam.
There were 13 other PBs. These were by Mark Hadrill with19:29 and Pauline Trusselle with 31:27 at Woodhouse Moor; Greg Billlenness with 22:16 at Bradford; Chris Smith with 18:50 at Roundhay; Michael Vargas with 17:12 at Cross Flatts; John Pratt with 19:51 at Hillsborough; Tobias Adkins with 20:00; Laura Hastings with 25:08; Naomi Adkins with 25:52 and Nicola Forwood with 26:13 at Oakwell Hall; Emma Brown with 23:57 and Alys Griffiths with 24:27 at Middleton Woods; and Christina Edwards with 42:57 at Armley.
Nichola Moreland joined the parkrun 50 club with her run at Middleton Woods and Lorna Midwood and Simon Rogers joined the parkrun 100 club with their runs at Frickley Country and Heaton respectively.
Top Age Grade% by the ladies was 67.07% by Honor Baldry at Temple Newsam and for the men was 76.62% by Gordon Crawford at Woodhouse Moor.
