There were 59 HPH women and 62 HPH men out parkrunning across 41 venues worldwide this week.
Twenty-five Hyde Park Harriers travelled to try out a new course. One of these courses was new to the HPH list. It was Gorey in Ireland by Chris Worfolk. Gorey is a market town in north County Wexford. It is bypassed by the main M11 Dublin to Wexford road. The town’s name may derive from the Irish Gabhraighe, meaning a “a place abounding in goats”. There are two soccer clubs located in the town: Gorey Rangers and Gorey Celtic. The parkrun course is 3½ laps of Gorey District Park. It is run entirely on tarmac. Gorey District Park has a large playground; outdoor gym equipment; a walking track; a skatepark; two football fields; and a sensory garden, micro-forest and enhanced biodiversity pool. The park café has original paintings by local artist Kate Kos.
There was one first finishing Hyde Park Harrier. This was Coralie Bell in 19:55 at Woodhouse Moor. There were six PBs. These were by Shresth Jindal with 26:21 and Abi Thornley with 30:25 at Woodhouse Moor; Andrew Black with 19:06 and Emily Martinson with 26:07 at Roundhay; George Webster with 34:53 at Bowling Park; and Ralph Kidner with 27:20 at Roberts Park.
Mohammed Aslam joined the parkrun 250 club with his run at Woodhouse Moor.
Top female Age Grade% was 74.31% by Coralie Bell at Woodhouse Moor and top male Age Grade% was 75.02% by Ian Martinson at Market Rasen Racecourse.
