There were 55 HPH women and 64 HPH men out parkrunning across 43 venues worldwide this week.

Twenty-two Hyde Park Harriers travelled to try out a new course. One of these was new to the HPH list. This was Anagach Woods in Scotland by Emma Amor.

Anagach Woods is a community-owned woodland in Grantown-on-Spey. Situated between the town centre and the River Spey, it spans nearly a thousand acres. Anagach Woods is a special place cherished by local people and visitors alike, with an expansive network of woodland trails and stunning scenery. Scots pine, birch, juniper, and rowan sit amongst primeval peat-bogs, hidden lochans (small lakes) and ancient eskers (Eskers are long, winding ridges of sand and gravel left behind by streams that once flowed inside or beneath melting glaciers), which together create the site’s magical character. Anagach Woods provides habitat for rare and endangered species such as the capercaillie, twinflower, and pine hoverfly. The parkrun course is two laps on undulating forest trail.

There was only one first finishing Hyde Park Harrier. This was Simon McGrath in 19:47 at Kingsway Park. There were however five second finishers. These were Jonah Kennedy in a PB time of 16:58 at Woodhouse Moor; Josh Dawson in a PB time of 18:20 at Armley; Clare Slorach in 22:00 at Blickling; Thomas Moulding in 19:06 at Potternewton; and Nick Shakhlevich in 18:38 at Pontefract. There were four other PBs. These were by Gordon Crawford with 24:31 and Louise Gardham with 30:01 at Middleton Woods; Lara Chapman with 32:24 at Druridge Bay and Daniel Richardson with 20:42 at Fulwell Quarry.

Jonathan Baxendale joined the parkrun 100 club with his run at Rothay Park. Naomi Adkins joined the parkrun 250 club with her run at Woodhouse Moor.

Top female Age Grade% was 69.98% by Honor Baldry and top male Age Grade% was 76.62% by Jonah Kennedy – both at Woodhouse Moor.
