There were 62 HPH women and 61 HPH men out parkrunning across 45 venues worldwide this week.

Twenty-three Hyde Park Harriers travelled to try out a new course. Three of these courses were new to the HPH list. These were Black Rocks in Derbyshire by Vicky Houghton; Vermuyden Way in North Lincolnshire by Anna Stocks; and Vicar Water Country Park near Mansfield by Liz and Chris Jones and Poppy Forwood.

Black Rocks is a small outcrop of ashover gritstone, between Cromford and Wirksworth in the Derbyshire Peak District, England. It is an important crag in the history of British rock climbing, and has some of the most extreme climbing routes in Britain. Fortunately the parkrun course runs along the adjacent High Peak Trail on three out and back sections. The route passes the historic High Peak Railway Engine House, the National Stone Centre and a stunning view across the Matlock Gorge.

The Vermuyden Way course is a straight, flat, out and back with a slight loop through a wooded area at the turnaround point, along the Vermuyden Way public footpath. It is bordered on both sides by waterways – the River Torne to the west and the South Engine Drain to the east. It is close to the Trolleybus Museum at Sandtoft, the largest trolleybus museum in Europe.

Vicar Water Country Park has been created on the site of a former colliery, transforming this former industrial site into a heathland, woodland and grassland, offering spectacular views across to Derbyshire and Lincolnshire. At the centre of the park is Vicar Pond, a large fishing lake created by the fifth Duke of Portland in the 1870s. In the past the lake has been used for boating and swimming. Today it has returned to its original use and offers a thriving coarse fishery. The park has a play area that includes a giant zipwire, climbing frames, swings and roundabouts and an accessible swing seat for ease of use by all abilities. The park also contains The Golden Hand. This 10-foot-high sculpture of a human hand was created by an artistic cooperative well over 20 years ago. It was crafted as part of a national cycling network project organized by the charity Sustrans. The parkrun course is a single clockwise lap around the park on a mixture of tarmac and trail.

There were three first finishing Hyde Park Harriers. These were Frazer Carr in a PB time of 17:40 at Roberts Park; Thomas Moulding in 18:23 on his first time and Emily Martinson in a PB time of 21:51 at Ancholme Valley Way. There were twelve other PBs. These were by Nagendran Balaramal with 26:07 and Helen Noyes with 27:22 at Woodhouse Moor; Clare Evans with 21:23 at York; Nicki Derrick with 24:41 at Pontefract; Alison Hargreaves with 22:33 at Burnley; Laura Kettlewell with 25:27 and Anna Moger with 30:07 at Cross Flatts; Steve Brown with 26:31 and Debbie Brown with 28:35 at Beeston; Chloe Wilson with 29:01 at Bramley; Sarah Jewers with 27:34 at Fort William; and William Watkins with 27:03 at Potternewton.

Rupert Jordan joined the parkrun 100 club with his run at Blyth Links.

Top female Age Grade% was 71.92% by Helen Noyes at Woodhouse Moor and top male Age Grade% was 76.82% by Rupert Jordan at Blyth Links.
