parkrunday 8th January 2022 – Hyde Park Harriers

There were 53 HPH Women and 35 HPH Men out parkrunning across 26 different venues this week. One new venue was added to the HPH List – Thomas Mills by Tom Williams. This is in the grounds and farmland surrounding Thomas Mills High School in Framlingham Suffolk – the school where Ed Sheeran was a pupil. For pillar box collectors Framlingham also has the two oldest functioning Post Office pillar boxes in the UK both marked V R, dating from 1856. It was also the filming location for the 2014 award winning BBC comedy series Detectorists.

There were six first finishing Hyde Park Harriers. These were Honor Baldry in 21:14 at Woodhouse Moor; Amy Ramsden-Young in a PB time of 19:40 at Concord; Michael Vargas in 18:37 at Armley; Anna Stocks in 22:45 at Cliffe Castle; Lucy Rider in 25:26 at Hanworth; and Brenda Gannon in 23:20 at Lough Key in Ireland. There were six other PBs. These were by Gregor Lawson with 21:02 at Woodhouse Moor; Paul Dickens with 26:11 at Hampstead Heath; Eleanor Colman with 24:30 (Assisted) at Brockenhurst; Alys Griffiths with 24:44 at Delamere; Sam Edwards with 30:46 at Bramley; and Rebecca Thorley with 34:22 at Potternewton.

Rosalie Dang joined the parkrun 25 club with her run at Woodhouse Moor and Eleanor Colman joined the parkrun 100 club with her run at Brockenhurst.

Top female Age Grade% was 75.59% by Amy Ramsden-Young at Concord and top male Age Grade% was 73.93% by Tom Thomas at York.
