There were 58 HPH women and 65 HPH men out parkrunning across 40 venues this week.
Twenty-three Park Harriers travelled to try out a new course. Two of these were new to the HPH list. These were Vicarstown in Ireland by Chris Worfolk and Skatås in Sweden by Tom Elcock. The Vicarstown course is out-and-back along the tow-path alongside the Grand Canal close to Portlaoise – the county town of County Laois. Skatås parkrun takes place close to Skatås Motionscenter – an exercise centre with outdoor and indoor gyms, facilities for beach volleyball and Frisbee golf; and exercise tracks. It is situated in a woody area east of Gothenburg.
There were three first finishing Hyde Park Harriers. These were Thomas Moulding in 16:54 on his first time at Pontefract; Dan Stevenson in a PB time of 18:56 at Roundhay; and Amy Ramsden-Young in 21:40 on her first time at Stavanger in Norway (Grete Waitz, Ingrid Kristiansen, Jakob Ingebrigtsen, Erling Haaland, Ole Gunnar Solskjær, Magnus Carlsen; your girls took one hell of a beating!). There were seven other PBs. These were by Ian Martinson with 21:43 at Pontefract; Helen Beddow with 28:15 at Monsal Trail; Jack Rose with 20:53 at Millfield; Chloe Brooks with 25:26, Megan Foster with 25:29 and Debbie Brown with 31:03 at Chevin Forest; and Jessica Wanless with 31:31 at Kagerzoom in the Netherlands.
Dan Stevenson joined the parkrun 100 club with his run at Roundhay. Jo Rhodes joined the parkrun 250 club with her run at Woodhouse Moor.
Top female Age Grade% was 72.70% by Clare Slorach at Roundhay and top male Age Grade% was 76.53% by Thomas Moulding at Pontefract.
