There were 59 HPH women and 66 HPH men out parkrunning across 56 venues worldwide this week.
Thirty-five Hyde Park Harriers travelled to try out a new course. One of these courses was new to the HPH list. This was Urayasushi Sogo Koen in Japan by Chris Harris. Urayasushi Sogo Koen parkrun course is a flat out and back circuit on tarmac paths along the bank of Tokyo Bay in Urayasu City in the Chiba Prefecture. Urayasu is best known as the home of Tokyo Disney Resort. The resort opened on April 15, 1983, as a single theme park (Tokyo Disneyland), later developing into a resort with a second theme park (Tokyo DisneySea), six Disney themed hotels, six non-Disney hotels and a shopping complex (Ikspiari). Tokyo Disneyland was the first Disney theme park to open outside the United States.
There were three first finishing Hyde Park Harriers. These were Clare Slorach in 20:32 at Woodhouse Moor; Jonathan Coade in 19:22 at Dewsbury; and Emily Martinson in 21:22 at Sunshine Beach, Japan. There were six PBs. These were by Meg Coleman with 30:40 at Woodhouse Moor; Alexandra Natalie Smith with 25:33 at Crane; Liam Edwards with 34:15 at Cross Flatts; Steve Brown with 25:32 at Beeston; Dominic O’Key with 19:25 at Coldham’s Common; and Sam Dooley with 26:17 at Myrtle.
Harry Webster joined the parkrun 25 club with his run at Woodhouse Moor. Michael Godsall joined the parkrun 50 club with his run at Chevin Forest. Jonathan Coade joined the parkrun 100 club with his run at Dewsbury. In addition both Sam Dooley at Myrtle and Rebecca Gray at Woodhouse Moor completed their 400th parkrun.
Top female Age Grade% was 73.30% by Clare Slorach at Heaton and top male Age Grade% was 76.89% by Rupert Jordan at Town Moor.
