parkrunday 9th July 2022

There were 45 HPH Women and 41 HPH Men out parkrunning across 32 different venues this week.

There were two first finishing Hyde Park Harriers both in their first times at their respective events. These were Rupert Jordan in 18:31 at Ballincollig in Ireland and Nicki Derrick in 26:33 at Foro Italico in Palermo, Italy. There were nine PBs. These were by Abdu Ahmed with 18:54 at Woodhouse Moor; Steve Brown with 29:48 at Long Eaton; Chris Harris with 22:32, Paul Sawyer with 22:50, Danni Bryant with 27:08, Jane Prust with 28:32, Amy Ramsden-Young with 31:12 and Steven Prust with 37:21 at Chevin Forest; and Frazer Carr with 18:27 at Roberts Park.

Tom Elcock added yet another parkrun venue to his list with his run at North Yorkshire Water Park – bringing his total different venues up to an incredible 294. Jaz Bangerh also added a new venue to her list as she visited Boston parkrun with the rest of the parkrun HQ team. Boston is my home town, but having lived in Leeds for the last thirty years I’ve still not made it over to Boston for a parkrun. From the photos posted on Facebook I’m glad to see a good time was had by all and the visit included a trip to the nearby Mirkwood Rest Home for Retired Sheep. It seems that bananas and ginger nuts are the favorite food of retired sheep.

Top female Age Grade% was 70.08% by Rebecca Gray at Dolgellau and top male Age Grade% was 72.64% by Rupert Jordan at Ballincollig.
