It was Unity Day in Germany on Tuesday 3rd October and that was the chosen day there for an additional parkrun event. Five Hyde Park Harriers took advantage to boost their number of parkruns by popping over to do a German Unity Day parkrun. These were Tom Elcock; Liz and Chris Jones; and Jane and Stephen Prust. Overall there were 61 HPH women and 64 HPH men out parkrunning across 54 venues this week.
Thirty-eight Hyde Park Harriers travelled to try out a new course and amongst them six new courses were added to the HPH list. These were Poznań in Poland by Jane and Stephen Prust; Seewoog in Germany by Tom Elcock; Aachener Weiher in Germany by Liz and Chris Jones; Hirono kaigankoen in Japan by Vikki Hawkins; Maaraue in Germany by Tom Elcock; and Havelkanal in Germany by Jane and Stephen Prust.
There was one first finishing Hyde Park Harriers this week. This was by Thomas Moulding in 17:23 at Killarney House in Ireland. There were 12 PBs. These were by Rupert Jordan with 17:35 at Rising Sun; Jonathan Coade with 17:39, John Pratt with 18:45, Joseph Elmes with 19:00; Richard Cartwright with 23:03; and Michael Godsall with 24:21 at Woodhouse Moor; Monika Pugeviciute with 22:57 at Northala Fields; Alexander Perkin with 21:34 and Sam Dooley with 24:44 at Bramley; Oliver Pryse with 23:26 at Walmer and Deal Seafront; Megan Foster with 25:46 at Chevin Forest; and Andrew Bassett with 22:56 at Ashington Community Woodland.
Michael Gartside joined the parkrun 100 club with his run at Roberts Park.
Top female Age Grade% was 70.81% by Carol Rogers at Heaton and top male Age Grade% was 77.06% by Rupert Jordan at Rising Sun.
