Road Championship after 4 Rounds

What a week the HPH Road Championship had the other week.  Wednesday 10th June saw the very tough Otley 10 mile race for round 3 and 29 Harriers took on the challenge.  The following night 27 Harriers took on the Full Bronte 5 miler for round 4.  Last year these two events were a week apart but unfortunately after we put our calendar together there was a change of dates, but this didn’t stop 13 super tough Harriers taking on both events.

At Otley Ben Hartley lead the men home from Tom Martin and Scott Watson.  In the ladies it was Rachel Bourne from Rebecca Rodgers and Hannah Marshall.

The next night it was Scott Watson leading home from Chris Smith and Tom Martin.  While Emily Stevenson lead home the ladies from Rebecca Rodgers and Monica Padilla.

The divisions are starting to take shape now but still room for someone to come from no where and get in on the act.  Just remember its best 5 scores from 7 that count.

Mens Premier Division – Ken fox has a slender 1 point lead from James Booth with Chris Smith in 3rd.  Stan Karanasios won the first two rounds but missed the past two opening the door for Chris to take round 3 and Ben Hartley round 4.  15 out of 20 runners have scored points so far.

Mens 1st Division – Anthony Aimon still leads even after missing rounds 3 and 4.  Next up is Trevor Raddings thanks to his maximum points on round 4.  Tom Eales won round 3 while Philip Goose won round 2.  Round 1 winner Chris Mann was on for a good result at Otley but had to pull out around 3 miles in due to ill health. 14 out of 20 point scorers so far.

Mens 2nd Division – Scott Watson lead the way from Tom Pollard and Matthew Gray.  Liam O’Brien won the first 2 but missed the last 2 which allowed Tom Martin and Scott to share wins.  19 point scorers so far.

Ladies Premier Division – Rebecca Rogers win on round 4 puts her in the lead ahead of Rachel Bourne who won the first 3 but missed the 4th.  Next up is Claire Lyons.  12 out of 20 point scorers so far.

Ladies 1st Division – Where have all the 1st division ladies gone, we have only had 6 out of the 20 score points so far.  There has been 3 different winners from 4 rounds (No one scored on round 3), Hilary Lund, Roslyn Holmes and Robin Culshaw have all taken 20 points.

Ladies 2nd Division – Hannah Marshall leads after a maximum points haul on round 3, from Clare Evans and Lucy Rider.  Helen Close won the first 2 but missed the next 2.  Emily Stevenson took round 4 honours.  17 point scorers.

Next up is the always popular Eccup 10 next week.  A quick glance at the entries and we are already showing 46 entries, a sea of Red and White again.  After this there is a long break until the Abbey Dash.
