Road Championship Points

2 Rounds down already for this years Road Championship.  This year we allowed people to count there best time from any of the 3 John Carr races which meant we had 47 point scorers.

Before the season started we had a vote on if we should keep the Leeds half marathon in the championship and 58 runners are happy we did.  Its been great to see so many runners out and lots of new faces,  hopefully we can get good numbers at the next few races.

Round 3 and 4 will test the commitment levels.  After an unfortunate date change we have two rounds together and both are tough ones.  Wednesday 10th June is the Otley 10 and Thursday 11th June is the Full Bronte 5, just remember hills are our friends….honest.

Right so after 2 rounds in the ladies Premier division Rachel Bourne has maximum points but Rebecca Rogers and Hannah Turner have followed her home on both.  In the mens Premier Stan Karanasios has been first home and again has been followed home in both by Chris Smith and Simon Gilbody.

The Ladies first division has only had 4 point scorers so far with Hiliary Lund and Roslyn Holmes getting 20 points each.  Plenty of point scorers in the men’s 1st division with Anthony Aimon leading the way but Chris Mann and Philip Goose have each taken home 20 point hauls.

The 2nd divisions has seen lots of new faces and its Helen Close who has max points for the ladies but Lucy Rider, Clare Evans and Hannah Marshall are hot on her heals.  In the men’s Liam O’Brien is going to take some beating this year if early season form is anything to go by.  Chris Taylor has started the year with 2 good scores.
