Wharfedale Trail Half Marathon 2015

An exceptionally windy day saw three HPH compete in the 13th running of the event. Richard Quinn completed the course 59th in 1.51.22, Chris Smith finished 73rd in 1.54.54 and 14th for age and Claire Hougham 395th in 3.02.18.

The race was won by Frank Beresford of Otley AC in 1.29.50. The course was set in the beautiful Wharfedale Valley, starting out from near Grassington taking in various terrain including marshland. The ascent of 2000ft was challenging, especially with a Gale blowing throughout the event. With 403 runners this proved to be a popular, if not challenging race, watch out for it next year Harriers!
