HPH Annual General Meeting – 05 May 2026
Thank you to everyone who attended the club’s AGM this week – we had around 50 club members in attendance and there were some excellent questions, thoughts and discussions throughout the evening.
You can read the full minutes of the meeting here – this blog is intended to summarise the key points.

A huge thanks to the 2025/2026 committee and particularly those who have completed their terms and stepped down – Grace Roberts, Richard Garratt, Ellie Williams, Honor Baldry and Sam Hadfield have all been brilliant since they were elected to the committee in 2024 (and in Grace and Richard’s cases, several more historic terms each!), and I’m sure I speak for the whole club when I say how grateful we are for their efforts.
ACTION POINTS AND PROPOSALS
There were some excellent proposals and suggestions from our members – the committee will discuss these and, where possible and appropriate, start to put them into action! If you’re particularly interested in any of the following, we always welcome help from the wider club.
- More opportunities for HPH to get to know each other socially, bridging the gaps between different pace groups and reinforcing the community ties that are at the heart of the club. This may take the form of more mixed-ability sessions as well as non-running social events.
- As part of our sustainability efforts, a litter-picking run has been proposed – location and timing to be confirmed, but watch this space.
- A social media campaign to emphasise that everyone is welcome at Hyde Park Harriers, regardless of running experience or ability, background, age or anything else! Look out for an opportunity to get involved – obviously we’d like this to capture as many people from across the club as possible!
- We will look into the possibility of club vests from Soar – these will likely be limited runs or one-off orders due to their higher expense. We will continue to offer our normal vests at their current prices.
QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS
- Got any queries on any of the above?
- Have the ideas we’ve shared got you thinking about other things HPH could do?
