There were 63 HPH women and 68 HPH men out parkrunning across 51 venues this week.
Eighteen Hyde Park Harriers travelled to try out a new course and amongst these one was new to the HPH list. This was Queens Domain in Australia by Louise Gardham.
The Queens Domain, also known as The Domain to locals, is a small hilly area of bushland just north-east of the CBD of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia, alongside the Derwent River. The parkrun course is around Max’s Infinity Loop. This is a multi-use running, walking and cycling track set in beautiful bushland encircling the summit of Hobart’s Queens Domain.The 2000m track was designed with a soft-fall bark surface on one half to cushion the foot fall of runners and walkers. The other half is bitumen, providing a better surface for cyclists and people with prams. The dual-surface track is the inspiration of local running enthusiasts and named in recognition of Maxwell George Cherry OAM. Max was an Australian athletics and fitness coach based in Hobart who dedicated many years to athletics and the training and promotion of fitness, especially for young people.
There were two first finishing Hyde Park Harriers. These were Anna Stocks in 22:45 at Harrogate and Vicky Houghton in 23:22 at Baysgarth Park. There were fifteen PBs. These were by Monika Pugeviciute with 23:39 at Bushy; Matthew Drake with 26:08 and Dan Lee with 49:29 at Woodhouse Moor; Lee Taylor with 19:48 at Silksworth; David Grealy with 20:21 at Norwich; Aisling Davis with 23:19 at Highbury Fields; Nicki Derrick with 25:23 at Pontefract; Adam Sumnall with 21:46 at Harrogate; Alsy Griffiths with 24:09 at Worsley Woods; Josh Mitchell with 20:27 at Dewsbury; Joe Lawley with 22:49 at Fort William; Simon Burton with 22:01 and Gordon Crawford with 25:12 at Potternewton; Robin Culshaw with 22:57 at Roberts Park; and Tami Bond with 28:25 at Perrigo, Redmond, USA.
Rosalie Dang joined the parkrun 100 club with her run at Woodhouse Moor and Matt Barton joined the parkrun 250 club with his run at Catford.
Top female Age Grade% was 69.25% by Jane Prust at Roundhay and top male Age Grade% was 72.16% by Mike Gallagher at York.
