Upcoming HPH Events – October 2024
Full details of the following events can be found on the specific event pages in our members & friends Facebook group (which we use for privacy, to assess numbers of attendees and to enable discussion between organisers and members). However, we appreciate that not everyone uses Facebook – this blog is intended to provide the key details for those without access to the event pages. If you have any queries, please raise this with the club committee via hello@hydeparkharriers.co.uk.
HPH Headtorch Run – Wednesday 16 October at 7pm
This will start and finish at the Hyde Park Book Club and will involve running for roughly an hour on the Meandwood Valley Trail and Sugarwell Hill. You will need to bring a good quality headtorch and be prepared to run on uneven, dark paths for an hour – this event is therefore not suitable for those brand new to running (or trailrunning specifically). A Spond invitation will be sent out on the Sunday prior to the event and numbers will be capped at 20.
HPH Goes to the Theatre – Wednesday 23 October at 7pm
HPH will be going to Leeds Playhouse to see Run Rebel – tickets are available here: https://www.leedsplayhouse.org.uk/event/run-rebel/
HPH Tour of Light Night – Thursday 24 October at 7pm
A slow run and stop-to-look-at-art jaunt around the main attractions of Light Night, starting and finishing at the Edge, taking about 90 minutes. Wear your brightest kit, flashing lights, etc! A Spond invitation will be sent out on the Sunday prior to the event.
HPH Saltaire Social – Sunday 27 October (from roughly midday)
You’re invited to make your way to Saltaire for an afternoon of food, drinks and chat – final venue TBC, but likely to be Salt Beer Factory. You’re welcome to get to Saltaire however you choose – run, cycle, train, drive – There are likely to be several of us making our way along the canal (roughly a half marathon distance from Leeds) and then getting the train back. A Spond invitation will be sent out on the Sunday prior to the event.
