I got to ST. Edmund’s Church Hall at 07:15 ready to go at 08:00 only to be told my start time was 09:00. Quickly changed that to 08:00! I did not want to hang around given today’s weather especially the…
This Harrier Of The Month is the final announcement of recipients to be considered in our annual awards evening for the main Chair’s and President’s awards – but remember, to build the suspense just because someone didn’t receive a single…
Firstly, I must start with apologies that Harrier Of The Month went AWOL with the announcements for November, but that means that we can bring you an extra bumper month of announcements for November and December in this blog. Harrier…
The Chair’s Blog for December comes fresh off of missing the blog for November (which gets written in December) – to be honest this confuses me as well, but each blog is a bit of a retrospective on the month…
Welcome to the Chair’s Blog for October. I’m fully aware that some of you may be wondering where August and September have gone, and the truth is that life has again taken over and the Chair’s Blog seems to have…
In a fit of pique in January when Alan realised that he had a fair few air miles from his credit card (definitely recommend a reward or cashback credit card if you end up putting a lot on for work…
We have previously shared (in August) Women’s Harrier Of The Month, but this month due to the amazing nominations, both the men’s and women’s award will be shared this month – and there’s also a bonus award. So without further…
Unfortunately I have to again apologise for the lateness of Harrier of the month for September coming at the very end of October (don’t forget to get your nominations in) – I would love to say it was for a…
As I put together this August review, the rain is pouring down the train window. How can August be so near, yet so, so far away? But let’s not let the Autumn blues reduce the achievements of the last month.…

Settle in for what will be a bumper edition of the round-up — you may or may not have noticed that a little triathlon took place in Leeds last month. It’s great to hear from everyone who took part in…
The 2018 World Triathlon Leeds was the first standard distance triathlon I signed up for (although I actually completed Wetherby two weeks earlier) and was my target race for the year. I lost my timing chip in the lake and…
I completed Allerthorpe Sprint Triathlon last year in a time of 1:30:17. This year, I dragged Elina and Venla along, thinking they could enjoy the sunshine and paddle in the lake. As it turns out, the day was cool and…
It’s time to award our second ever Harrier Of The Month awards – as promised we will alternate and this month we will start with the women’s award. First of all though, we have had fewer nominations come in for…
Welcome to the July Chair’s Blog, giving you a bit of an overview on what we’ve been working on. For July personally things seemed to have flown by in terms of club stuff – you may know that part of…
7.30am, Saturday 17 August 2019. The sun had risen over Roundhay park and was now shining on the lake, and on the 11 Hyde Park Harriers who had congregated on the dam at its southern boundary. A very long day…
We are happy to announce the first every Harrier Of The Month awards! These are for achievements by members during June where fellow members have nominated them for these achievements. Our winners have been nominated for their running achievements, their…
